AI prices compared: ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and more, and why Bangla costs extra
You need: ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini
AI has two kinds of price: a monthly plan for the app, and a price per token for people who build with the API. All prices below come from each company’s own page on 28 October 2026. They change often, so check before you pay.
Monthly plans in Bangladesh
All three have a free plan. The paid ones:
| Cheapest paid | Main paid | Top | |
|---|---|---|---|
| ChatGPT | Go: $8 | Plus: $20 | Pro: from $100 |
| Claude | Pro: $20 ($17 a month yearly) | Max: from $100 | |
| Gemini | AI Plus: ৳600 | AI Pro: ৳2,500 | AI Ultra: from ৳8,100 |
Google is the only one with a taka price for Bangladesh. ChatGPT and Claude charge in US dollars, so you need a card that works abroad.

What a token is
AI reads text in small pieces called tokens. A common English word is about one token. API prices are per million tokens, counted separately for what you send (input) and what the AI writes (output).
The Bangla token tax
We counted the first paragraph of our leave email post, which says the same thing in both languages:
| Tokenizer | English | Bangla | Bangla costs |
|---|---|---|---|
| OpenAI (the one published for GPT-4o and GPT-5) | 49 | 70 | 1.4× |
| Claude Opus 5.5 | 63 | 172 | 2.7× |
That is one paragraph, so treat it as a sign, not a rule. A study of 1,012 professionally translated sentences found the same pattern: Bangla needed 5.8× the tokens on GPT-4, 2.0× on DeepSeek-V3 and 1.7× on GPT-4o. What you pay is price × tokens, so a model that is cheaper per token can still cost more for Bangla.
API prices per million tokens
| Model | Input | Output |
|---|---|---|
| OpenAI GPT-6 Astra | $10 | $50 |
| Claude Fable 5.1 | $10 | $50 |
| Claude Opus 5.5 | $4 | $20 |
| Gemini 4 Argon | $2 ($4 from 1 Dec 2026) | $10 ($20 from 1 Dec) |
| OpenAI GPT-6.1 Sol | $2 | $10 |
| Claude Sonnet 5.5 | $2 | $10 |
| xAI Grok 4.7 | $2 | $6 |
| Gemini 3.8 Flash | $0.75 ($1.50 from 1 Jan 2027) | $3.75 ($7.50 from 1 Jan) |
| DeepSeek Flash | $0.30 | $1.20 |
| OpenAI GPT-6 Luna | $0.10 | $0.50 |
| Claude Haiku 5.5 | $0.10 | $0.50 |
Four rules that save more than picking a model
- Output costs three to five times input. Ask for short answers.
- Repeated text is cheap when cached: a tenth of the input price or less. Keep the long, fixed part of your prompt the same every time.
- Not urgent? Wait. OpenAI’s batch prices are half. DeepSeek is half price outside its busy hours, which in Dhaka are 7 to 10 am and 12 to 4 pm on weekdays.
- Free API tiers cost you data. On Gemini’s free tier, Google can use what you send to improve its products. On the paid tier it doesn’t.
